**Job Purpose**:
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- NB: The list of responsibilities is a guide and may include but are not limited to the following. You may be required to undertake such other duties commensurate with the post as and when required_
- Deliver bespoke emotional health & wellbeing sessions to young people, youth leaders, practitioners and volunteers who engage and support children & young people with a focus on the 10 -29 age range.
- Deliver low to medium intensity therapeutic intervention and case work on an individual basis to those young people who are already working with Youth Federation focussing on the 10-29 age range
- Welcoming and introducing children and young people who have been referred to Youth Fed for additional support.
- Having conversations with children and young people, identifying and assessing the issues affecting them and giving support, information and guidance about services and opportunities to help with their emotional needs
- Working with young people to develop or implement a personal plan combining for example counselling with local providers, on-line support and positive activities. Following up and ensuring the personal plan is progressed.
- Identifying and referring when further targeted or clinical support might be needed.
- Including and advising family members or carers how best to support their children in management of their personal plan.
- Efficiently managing the workload and ensuring that all contact work and outcomes are documented, evaluated and that data is inputted into a case management system.
- Giving support to young people who are already accessing Youth Fed who could benefit from emotional and well-being services as an early intervention.
- Ensure compliance with Youth Fed standards, procedures and ‘best practice’ processes, and all directives are constantly being met.
- Support other ad hoc projects and programmes with, administrative, operations and support duties.as required

**Essential Criteria**:
**Qualifications**
- Have a relevant professional/clinical qualification in young people’s mental health, counselling or psychology or significant experience working within the field.
**Experience**
- Working with and providing interventions to children and young people in relation to mental health
- Delivering programmes to individuals and groups both face to face and virtually
- Working to targets and reporting against them
- Measuring the impact of your work
**Skills**
- Ability to confidently advise on key concerns including: anxiety, depression, suicidal feelings/risk, self-harm, anger/violence, school issues, and problems accessing or navigating services
- Self starter, able to manage own time and caseload efficiently.
- Leading group work

- Excellent communication skills
**Knowledge**
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding relating to children and young people’s mental health
- Knowledge of interventions and strategies that can help to support young people’s mental health

- Knowledge of service that young people can be referred into
