**Job Title** HR Generalist

**Reports to** HR Manager Support Specialist

**Purpose of Role**

To provide high quality HR support and advice in relation to current HR services. These areas include:

- Management Support
- Recruitment and Retention
- Employee Relations (ER)
- Employee Engagement
- HR Data

**Main Responsibilities**

**Core Responsibilities**

Support HR Specialists in all core HR areas of management support, recruitment and retention, employee relations and engagement:
**Management support**
- Provision of professional support and guidance to line managers

(NI and ROI) on all aspects of people management in line with our policies, current legislation and best practice
- Provide timely and high quality support through a help-desk system
- Developing insights from HR data
- Lead on HR process improvements.

**Recruitment and retention**
- Support with all aspects of recruitment to use and improve our values based approach to hiring the right staff
- Analyse recruitment and leaver metrics and contribute to workforce planning and retention strategies
- Participate in initiatives to enhance the organisation's reputation as an employer of choice, both internally & externally.

**Employee Engagement**
- Provide support to manager to develop and implement staff engagement and retention initiatives
- Drive Employee Engagement initiatives across the organisation
- Foster a positive work environment through staff surveys, pulse surveys and programs to boost employee engagement
- Actively engage with internal stakeholders and forums to gain full understanding
- Promote diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace, ensuring all staff feel valued and respected

**Employee relations**
- Support managers with sickness absence and staff well-being
- Support managers with employee relations cases
- Work effectively as part of the HR Team to provide consistent, timely advice and support on complex ER casework
- Engage with internal stakeholders including individual managers and manager forums
- Engage with external stakeholders including HSC trust, Union representatives, legal advisers and governing body representatives
- Provision of management training, coaching and mentoring to upskill managers on HR people management policies and processes
- Contribute to the review and updating of policies, guidance, processes and training in relation to people management
- Work effectively on an individual and collaborative basis to promote and maintain a positive work environment and eliminate workplace conflict

**HR Initiatives and Projects**
- Lead on or contribute to the delivery of HR services across a wide range of people practices.
- Other projects and initiatives may arise which will be agreed with the HR Director in line with the Corporate Plan

**Reporting/ Data analysis**
- Use of HR data system (currently iTrent) to inform support staff and managers.
- Use of HR data to provide key HR metrics to inform management decision making and project work
- Analyse and develop insights from HR data
- Provide clear and timely reports as required in relation to management support tasks and/ or project tasks.

**General**
- Understand and respect confidentiality and maintain personal data in line with Positive Futures’ policies, procedures and guidance
- Carry out your duties and responsibilities in line with relevant health and safety and risk management policies and procedures
- Ensure that risk management processes are complied with, risks are clearly identified, and mitigation actions are taken

There may be other duties from time to time as Positive Futures may reasonably require.
