**Main Responsibilities**
- Performs a variety of duties in handling and organizing airport transfers for all UK Young Learner Centres
- Supports the transport Manager and works under his/her supervision
- Maintains effective working relationship with other employees, clients and members of the general public
- Responds to routine enquiries from staff, clients, and suppliers in a timely fashion and investigates as required
- To be part of the UK Young Learner’s emergency phone
- Support the TM to ensure that all Young learners requesting an airport transfer reach the airport in time for their flight
- Participate in transport induction week
- Work collaboratively and collectively within a small transfer team
- Attend weekly team Transport meetings held by the TM
- Attend daily transfer briefings held by the TM
- Attend Health & Safety briefings given by the TM
- Make phone calls, answer enquiries and collate data during transfer arrival and departure days
- Respond to all requests/correspondence from the TM in a timely fashion
- Complete any transport administrative tasks as required by TM in a timely manner
- Inform the TM of any transport related issues/incidents immediately
- Help to maintain and update transport records accurately
- Support Head office with sending out inventory supplies to the centres
- Be aware of all BSC procedures and comply to them
- Other related duties as assigned by the Transport Manager
- Work confidentially and professionally to always uphold the reputation of BSC

**At the Airport**
- Works as a Meet and greet assistant at Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton or Stansted on arrival days
- Ensures all Young Learners who requested an arrival transfer are met and greeted upon arrival by BSC Reps. And that they are safely taken to their final destination ensuring company and regulatory procedures are followed accurately
- Ensures that all Young Learners who requested a departure transfer reach the airport in time for their flight ensuring company and regulatory procedures are followed accurately
- Be present and attentive during student’s security check ins
- Works collaboratively with BSC centre staff during Meet and Greet shifts to ensure students reach their final destinations soundly and safely
- Inform students of airport waiting areas and monitor arrivals/departures to help connect students on instructed shared transfers
- Always be contactable during meet and greet airport shifts
- Actively assist young learners during assisted check ins
- Follow BSC’s Unaccompanied Minor procedures and stay in regular contact with HO during the pick-up and drop off of minors
- Liaise effectively and cooperatively with BSC coach suppliers and taxi companies
- Give transport updates or course town briefings via coach commentaries to groups
- Be visible, timely, professional and always dressed in BSC uniform at the airport
- Update Head Office with Transport arrivals and departures as they happen

In addition to the above, all members of staff are required to:

- Act in the welfare of the students at all times
- Comply with centre and BSC rules and regulations


**Requirements**:
**Essential**
- Good communication skills
- Be flexible
- Previous employment undertaking administrative tasks is essential
- Computer literate and good typing skills
- Good attention to detail
- Eagerness to learn
- Reliable, trustworthy and not afraid to face challenges
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to develop relationships with others (internal and external)
- Self-starter who works on their own initiative
- Health and Safety knowledge
- Ability to work well in a team
- Willingness to be based (or to relocate) to Brighton for the summer

**Desirable**
- Experience of working within a summer school setting
- Experience working within a logistics/or a transport environment
- Current valid First Aid certificate
- Child Protection training

**Conditions**
- Competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience. Pay scale available on request.
- This post is offered on a non-residential basis. Working hours may be unsociable due to the times of student arrivals and departures.
- BSC adopts a smart, casual dress policy. BSC uniform is compulsory at the airport and special events. BSC lanyards are to be worn at all times.
