**Job description**:
The role of the Commercial Support Officer will provide you with an invaluable insight into how the Commercial team supports the wider BEIS family to deliver critical services to the public.

We are seeking a strong communicator and an enthusiastic team mate, who can think on their feet to support the delivery of Commercial objectives.

A CIPS level 1 allowance will be available with evidence of completion of the CIPS Foundation stage or Level 4 Commercial Procurement and Supply qualification.

Applicants with prior experience in commercial activities are welcome to apply, though previous experience is not essential.

**Corporate Services**

The successful applicants will be responsible for supporting commercial activity across BEIS Corporate Services. This is a broad area covering customers in; Commercial, Operations, Security, Finance, Communications, Ministerial Offices, and HR.

The successful applicants will report to the Commercial Lead for Corporate Services.

Projects and work packages could vary from multi-million-pound media services to implementing cyber security packages, and new digital platforms supporting the whole department for cross-departmental work.

You will receive an allocation of 20% off the job learning time to complete the apprenticeship programme and will be a member of the BEIS Apprentice Network, which hosts regular events, networking, and further development opportunities.

**Help to Heat**

The role is based in the Net Zero and Business Team. The team aim to improve the energy performance of social housing through targeted investment and collaborative engagement with social housing landlords and other government departments.

You will report to the Commercial Lead for Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, joining the department’s integrated Help to Heat team.

**Energy (Non-Nuclear)**

This role is based in the Energy Team within BEIS, specifically supporting Non-Nuclear Energy. We support Policy and Delivery teams with a wide range of requirements including Energy Supply and Security, Renewable Energy and Carbon Capture.

This role will report directly to the Commercial Lead for Energy Supply, with opportunity to work across the whole portfolio supporting a quickly growing team.

The workload is a mixture of programmed and reactive, and the nature of the Energy Directorate dictates that the post holder should expect to work in a dynamic and evolving environment.
