One of the top ranked secondary schools in the North East is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the general maintenance and help coordinate the maintenance team. The Maintenance Supervisor will have relevant electrical or plumbing experience and qualifications. In addition, the Maintenance Supervisor will have extensive knowledge of building and fabric maintenance as well as a good understanding of health and safety legislation.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead, motivate and direct the facilities team
- Monitor work outcomes
- Regularly appraise performance of individual members
- Contribute to the safe working environment for the whole school
- Provide front line maintenance and small in-house projects
- Liaise and coordinate with contractors
- Order materials and manage consumable stock
- Undertake routine maintenance which includes joinery, plumbing and electrical repairs
- Drive the van and minibuses as required
- Gritting and snow clearing when required
- Maintain workshop asset register, ensuring its regular inspection and servicing
- Assist at school events
- Perform any other duties related to the role

**Knowledge, skills and qualifications**:
**Essential**:

- Have relevant experience and qualifications in electrical or plumbing
- Have extensive knowledge of building and fabric maintenance
- A good working knowledge of health and safety legislation
- Good IT skills
- Strong communication, customer service, attention to detail, and people management skills
- A clean UK driving licence
- Be able to acquire first aid, manual handling, working at height and CoSHH qualifications
- Be able to life heavy and large equipment, furniture and deliveries

**Salary**: £28,000 per annum + excellent benefits and overtime

**Hours**: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7.30am until 4.00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- You will be requested to opt out of the Working Time Regulations and agree to work for more than an average of 48 hours a week over a 17-week period at certain times._

**Benefits**: Hols 31 days + 8 BH, free lunch, workwear provided, pension (6%/10%), life assurance + many more

**Salary**: £28,000.00 per year
