Position Summary
The Plumbing Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Technical Supervisor and Area Operations Manager (AOM) by delivering both reactive and scheduled maintenance services for plumbing and mechanical systems across various sites, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all plumbing and mechanical systems as directed by the Technical Supervisor or AOM.
- Ensure all mechanical equipment is maintained and assist with planned preventive maintenance (PPM) routines as instructed.
- Conduct mechanical work in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Complete risk assessments prior to undertaking tasks and ensure all documentation is accurately filled out.
- Diagnose equipment faults and execute repairs as necessary, utilizing manufacturer manuals and schematics.
- Report any risks, losses, or defects to management for prompt corrective action.
- Collaborate with the Technical Supervisor, AOM, and Workflow Helpdesk for both demand and planned maintenance tasks, responding to additional requests as needed.
- Notify the Technical Supervisor of any mechanical or electrical issues impacting daily operations.
- Generate monthly and ad-hoc reports as required or directed.
- Participate in an Emergency Call Out Service as needed, following the Out of Hours Rota.
- Perform other relevant duties consistent with the technical services delivery requirements as directed by management.
- Understand and adhere to environmental responsibilities, following company policies and procedures to support sustainability objectives.
- Manage a variety of tasks effectively, planning accordingly within short timeframes.
- Work under regular supervision, escalating issues as necessary.
- Support the implementation of Health and Safety policies and standards.
- Oversee the activities of others to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met, considering the broader impact of work.
- For non-supervisory roles, perform skilled work requiring technical training (NVQ3 or equivalent).
- Demonstrate proven experience in mechanical maintenance work, holding relevant qualifications such as NVQ (Level 3) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Maintain awareness of Manual Handling, IPAF, and Asbestos safety protocols.
