RECRUITMENTiQ are working with a supported living provider specialising in the provision of services relating to caring and supporting adults with learning disabilities.

We are looking to appoint dedicated Support Workers to join our small, supported living organisation, providing support to adults with learning disabilities, across our three services in Braintree.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring support for individuals in all areas of their lives. By joining us, you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people and feel good every day by helping to make a real difference in peoples’ lives.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to our service users for whom the organisation has agreed to provide a service in line with an agreed support plan
- Help our service users achieve a life that is as independent as possible, through support, advice and encouragement
- Care and support service users in a non-discriminatory way, respecting each other’s dignity, independence,cultural and social background and independence
- Work with other staff employed by the organisation in order to provide an integrated approach to people’s health and care
- Work in partnership with service user’s family members and others who are involved in their care
- Contribute to individual wellbeing
- Encourage and enable service users to remain as independent as possible
- Assist and prompt with daily activities such as washing, choosing clothing, toilet arrangement etc.
- Help with managing their tenancies and daily living tasks such as laundry, cleaning, managing money etc.
- Help with eating and drinking, preparing meals snack and drinks
- Help with food shopping and meal planning
- Administer prescribed medications as specified on the individual’s support plan
- Promoting service user’s mental and physical health through adhering to set activities and day placements
- Reporting for each shift through a written report
- Comply with the organisation’s policies and procedures at all times
- Build relationships, trust and proactively promote personal development
- Perform such other duties as may reasonably be required

No experience is required as full training will be given as well as ongoing support. There are opportunities for full-time carers working 7-3pm, 3-10pm or split shifts such as 7-10.30am and 3-10pm and sleep-in shifts. We are also able to offer part-timeroles working 15/22 hours a week.
