**If you can answer yes to all the above, then we would love you to join our dedicated and friendly team at Barnardo’s Disability Support & Inclusion Service.**
**Location of this post: Various locations throughout East Yorkshire.**
**Objectives of the Service**
We are looking to appoint a bank of Educational Outreach Support Workers to provide support to young people who are not currently attending school/college or receiving a formal education. The aim of the service is to support and build up excellent positive, professional relationships with the young people. Recognising their capabilities and interests, provide a well-structured programme of activities with the aim to help them return to formal education.
**We are looking for applicants who are**:
- Confident and creative in engaging and working alongside young people aged between 5-18 years.
- Previous experience working with SEND, SEMH young people and young people with behavioural difficulties.
- Able to provide emotional and practical support to young people, in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Some knowledge of school systems, pastoral systems and working with parents of disaffected students would be an advantage.
**You will receive**:
- £12.00 per hour, plus rolled up annual leave which equates to £12.99 per hour.
- Full paid induction to the role and we will provide a comprehensive training package including first aid, safeguarding, behaviour intervention training and any other child specific requirements.
- Quarterly supervision and team training.
- Robust lone working and safe working protocol with on call support.
- Additional hours working evenings and weekends would also be available if so desired.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: £12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 - 30 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
