- Job descriptionThe Police, Fire and Crime Commissioners (PFCC) Early Intervention and Youth Service is looking for a Senior Practitioner to work for us. You will be joining an established high performing team and will come on board to increase Senior Practitioner capacity in supporting and developing a team of front line Practitioners who help children, young people and families at Thresholds and Pathways Tier 2.

You will have proven experience of performance managing a team, offering a safe place for reflective practise and development in order to offer the best service to the children, young people and families referred to us for support.

You are able to draw on the principles of integrated working and signs of safety. Working creatively with partner agencies to establish and deliver effective support in line with the stated objectives of the Prevention Strategy and ‘Early Help’ principles.

You will have proven experience of working in a relevant field and have a can do attitude and a passion for initiating positive outcomes for people.

This is an exciting time to be joining us and we have multiple projects where your expertise and innovation and is needed. These specialisms include the encouragement and development of Youth Workers. Practitioners who advocate for victims and their families who have experienced domestic abuse and family conflict. Young people at risk of exploitation and gang violence and Practitioners who offer holistic family support.

OPFCC staff are based at Police Headquarters, Darby House, Wellingborough and work from Police and partner sites across the county.

**This is a politically restricted post and requires successful completion of Police vetting.**

**Recruitment and Selection Policy**

Internal applicants who are at risk of redundancy or in need of redeployment and pass the selection process, will be offered the role over the remaining internal and external applicants.

Please be aware that the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner and Northamptonshire Police are separate employers. Although Police internal vacancies are open to OPFCC staff and vice versa, if you are successful, the change of employer will require a longer onboarding process and you will receive a new contract and payroll number. Service with either employer can be carried over as continuous service.

**Police Barred and Advisory lists**

Individuals placed on the Police Barred and Advisory lists will not be considered for employment by the Police or OPFCC for a minimum of 5 years from the date of listing in the case of gross misconduct, or 3 years from the date of listing in the case of poor performance.
