Attendance Officer

Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (term time plus 2 weeks)

The Attendance Officer’s role is to ensure school systems for recording and monitoring pupil attendance work effectively, reporting for whole school and sub groups, internally and externally.

To liaise regularly with parent/carers on attendance issues and to encourage and actively promote good attendance via the School’s inclusion linked reward schemes.

**KEY TASKS**:

- To ensure that statutory requirements are met in relation to student attendance
- To work closely with Local Authority and other relevant agencies to improve attendance within the school and promote good practice.
- To work with Senior Assistant Headteacher, Pupil Premium SLT lead and Heads of Year on attendance and senior staff to support their attendance roles
- To prepare Early Help Assessments and Team Around the Child or Family meetings and other relevant referrals
- To conduct home visits, including pupil collection as required
- Prepare reports using statistical data and assist with producing regular attendance reports to other committees and governors as required
- To monitor and investigate daily attendance
- To contribute to School attendance policies and procedures
- Co-ordination and delivery of School Attendance Matters days
- To attend meetings in school with parents/carers to discuss attendance concerns
- Prepare and review of attendance action plans

**Salary**: £23,411.00-£24,217.00 per year
