This post will involve providing organisational support to the Ophthalmology Admin Team to manage and co-ordinate on a day-to-day basis the trainee, fellow and consultant staff rotas, liaising with medical staffing to coordinate start dates of new medical staff recruits and liaising with medical team to record annual leave request to send to patient administration managers.

To support the Ophthalmology service group in respect of day-to-day robust rota management for the medical staffing teams by providing electronic timetabled rota templates to the sub-specialties in a timely manner and informing the relevant personnel of any changes.

To work with the Clinical Director, Trainee lead and subspeciality leads to ensure that staff utilisation on rotas is effective i.e., via the use of internal swaps, effective prospective cover arrangements and the management of all forms of leave.

To contact relevant staff and bank workers as required to fill gaps in the on-call rotas keeping rota leads and management appraised of progress.

Inpatient paediatrics, most general surgery, and our stroke specialist centre are located at Sandwell. We have significant academic departments in cardiology, rheumatology, ophthalmology, and neurology.
