Job overview

The Lung Cancer Nursing Team support patients being investigated for, diagnosed with and treated for lung cancer.

We work across several divisions: Respiratory, Clinical Oncology, Thoracic Surgery and Palliative Care and see the patient from pre-diagnosis to diagnosis, treatment and end of life care.

We are passionate about pre-habilitation and rehabilitation and would like to expand our provision for patients in this area.

Main duties of the job

To ensure personalised care to our patients via holistic needs assessments

Support patients to navigate their own lung cancer journey by offering advice for practical, emotional and physical concerns.

Offer prehabilitation for patients having clinical oncology treatment.

Assist with research trials and studies looking at prehabilitation in lung cancer.

You will require excellent communication skills, empathy and kindness with good IT skills. You will need to be organised and able to work autonomously and forward thinking.

It is important to have a background looking after lung cancer patients and experience in prehabilitation is desired.

The post would suit somebody currently in secondment or with direct experience as a lung cancer support worker.

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
