Team Leader

**Job Purpose**:
To lead a manufacturing line of up to 20 employees, ensuring the day-to-day running of production, adherence to health and safety protocols, maintenance of product quality, and achievement of production plans. This role is integral to the personal development of the production team.
**Job Summary**:
The Team Leader will play a key role in managing production effectively, supporting shift operations, and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures. The role involves leading a team, optimising processes, and driving continuous improvement in the production department.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
Lead by example in all Health & Safety policies, fostering a 'safety first' culture.
Ensure daily production targets are met.
Minimise downtime and proactively develop improved working methods.
Lead and encourage worker participation in the production team.
Drive change initiatives within the production department.
Cost-effective utilisation of a limited labour force, ensuring sufficient resources.
Maintain consistently high-quality products.
Maximise plant efficiency while meeting production goals.
Maintain excellent communications and relationships with relevant departments.
Coordinate accurate stock takes in the department.
Be available for month and year-end stock takes.
Motivate, train, and develop the production team.
Maintain accurate stock levels.
Discuss performance standards with employees not meeting company requirements.
Encourage and promote forward-thinking.
Be able to cover key positions within the department.
Ensure adherence to safe systems of work.
Conduct investigations (incident/accident).
Conduct return-to-work meetings, probationary reviews, and job chats with direct reports.

**Person Specification**:Education and Experience**:
- Manufacturing supervisory experience (essential).
- Lean/5S manufacturing discipline experience (desirable).
- Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong IT skills.

**Salary**: £26,698.00-£26,699.00 per year
