Occupational Therapy Practitioner

Location: Peripatetic - Powys

**Salary**: £11,000 per annum dependant on experience based on 18.75 per week

We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapy Practitioner to join our team. Working alongside the Occupational Therapist in the provision of Occupational Therapy needs throughout the company. The Therapist works with adults' children and young adults, who have complex specialised needs.

This role will provide on-going input to identified service users, modifying levels of intervention or intervention programmes when appropriate and notifying the Occupational Therapist of these changes. You will develop therapy activities to meet defined intervention needs. There will be some clinical administrative support to the Occupational Therapist as required and you will produce resources to support own clinical work.

**A day in the life of an **Occupational Therapy Practitioner **with Orbis Education and Care Involves**:

- Independently carrying out routine therapy activities following programmes set by the Occupational Therapist;
- Working independently with service users both individually and in small groups, in a range of settings;
- Managing a prioritised and specified caseload with support from an Occupational Therapist;
- Managing and prioritising own workload;
- Supporting the Occupational Therapist in ensuring that service users are involved in planning and prioritisation of their plans wherever possible;
- Maintaining up-to-date and accurate case notes in line with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists Professional Standards and Company policies.
- Gathering activity data accurately and regularly, ensuring provision of such information promptly within Company guidelines;
- Contributing to clinical teams, both uni-disciplinary and multidisciplinary, to discuss own input around service users, ensuring a well-co-ordinated plan.

**To be a successful Occupational Therapy Practitioner** **with Orbis Education and Care, you'll need**:

- NVQ 3 in Social Care or equivalent;
- Current driving licence or a willingness to travel;
- Experience of working with people who have sensory, functional educational and occupational impairments in a complex environment;
- Awareness of communication systems (PECS, Makaton, Teacch);
- Experience of working with children and adults with Autism and or a learning disability;
- Multi - disciplinary team working.
