AGCCE has a vacancy for a Utility Operator, working on shifts. The job holder will monitor and control the supply of utilities to both PTFE and ETFE production units and for ensuring that AGCCE remains within the environmental permits.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Monitor and control the Waste Acid Neutralisation plant (WAN) and the Solids Removal Plant (SRP), to ensure AGCCE comply with the conditions of its environmental permit.
- Operate and monitor the production of de-mineralised water for supply to the steam generation plant and both ETFE / PTFE production plants.
- Operate and monitor the production of steam for both ETFE / PTFE production plants.
- Make changes to the operation of the acid driers and the steam pyrolysis sections of the TFE production plant on the instructions of the control gallery operators.
- Oversee the off-loading of raw materials in order to ensure that AGCCE are in full compliance with the procedures.

**Personal Qualities**:

- Previous experience of a process role gained within a hazardous chemical environment.
- Experience of working with computer controlled hazardous manufacturing process would be desirable.
- Experience and ability to take corrective action to address production, quality and SHE issues.
- Able to understand complex chemical processes.
- Must remain calm, logical and rational in emergency situations.
- Able to react quickly and calmly to rapidly changing circumstances.
- Responsible and committed attitude, able to work under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good analysis and problem solving skills.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- NVQ level 3 in Process Operations.
- NEBOSH Health, Safety and Environment L2 Business Improvements.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Comply with all Health & Safety procedures and ensure that all safe practices/procedures of work are applied at all times.
- Direct process operator activities in the relevant autoclave and utility operating areas so that production plans are met.
- Control the Pyrolysis Control panel and by analysis and interpretation of gas composition, ensure that R22 and Steam conversion efficiency and impurity levels are optimised.
- Monitor and control the distillation train so that conditions in the acid driers, gas compressors, stills train and arc plant are optimised.
- Control all the polymerisation on the plant so that production targets are met and there are no decompositions.
- Responsible for monitoring the plant gas and fire alarm system and to carry out all relevant safety and service checks to fulfil operating requirements as laid down in the plant emergency procedures.

**Personal Qualities**:

- The incumbent must be able to take corrective action in order to address production,

quality and SHE issues.
- Understand complex chemical processes.
- Remain calm, logical and rational when in an emergency.
- Able to react quickly and calmly to rapidly changing circumstances.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Good knowledge of PTFE and TFE manufacturing processes.
- Previous experience of a process role, gained within a hazardous chemical environment.
- Experience of working with computer controlled hazardous manufacturing process is desirable.
- Experience and ability to take corrective action to address production, quality and SHE issues.

**Salary: £28,268pa + £8,482 SDA**
