As a Research System Administrator, you'll be at the heart of this mission, making sure our computer systems run smoothly and securely.

**Responsibilities also include**:

- Providing a key role in helping to facilitate the translation of the scientific aspirations of the research community into technical solutions that can be run on ARC’s systems.
- Demonstrate knowledge of scripting either with UNIX shells, Python or similar
- Demonstrate skills in managing Linux systems and networks.
- Be part of a dedicated team at the heart of research computing and support in the University. This position provides an excellent and exciting opportunity for someone seeking to develop their career in these areas.

**About You**

To be successful in this varied and interesting role, you will:

- Ideally have substantial practical software development or Linux systems administration experience and enjoy using this experience in new areas for problem-solving.
- Have great communication skills (written and verbal) and be confident in the ability to communicate with the team, researchers, and academic staff.
- Have a positive attitude with a flexible and adaptable approach to your work and be comfortable taking a lead role in areas where you identify new skills or tools are needed.
