**SALARY RANGE**: In the range FTE £23,636.00-£28,888.00 (£18,000-£22,000 Pro Rata) will be paid for this role

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- To support the welfare of students throughout the senior school
- To deal with issues in a positive manner, communicating actions to staff and parents as appropriate.
- To liaise with tutors on pastoral matters, with active involvement in tutor meetings
- Work directly in conjunction with the Deputy Head on matters relating to safeguarding, wellbeing and behaviour
- Providing administrative pastoral support and manage pastoral processes and procedures
- Liaising with staff/parents/external agencies with regards to pupil behaviour, wellbeing and safeguarding
- Administering the school’s Behaviour Management Policy and related documents
- Monitoring Personalised Support Plans (PSPs) and Early Helps Plans (EHPs) for students with behavioural or pastoral concerns
- Support individual pupils to access lessons and learning opportunities, helping them to meet the expectations of staff
- Attend the weekly Pastoral Meetings
- Manage attendance and punctuality to school and to lessons

**ADDITIONAL DUTIES**
- To play a full part in the life of Queen Mary’s School assisting with staff duties as required
- To participate in induction training, staff appraisals and professional development opportunities
- To undertake additional safeguarding training
- To perform any the responsibility deemed reasonable by the Head / Deputy Head

The Pastoral Assistant will work for and, report to the Deputy Head

**General Responsibilities**
- Liaise closely with the boarding staff to ensure pupils are well cared for.
- Facilitate and disseminate relevant information to staff.
- Maintain good communication with parents, respecting pupils’ confidentiality.
- Attend staff meetings as requested by Head and Deputy Head
- Attend In-service training and staff meetings at the start of each term.
- Attend CPD training as required.
