**Pastoral and Attendance Lead - North London - Secondary School - ASAP Start**

An outstanding North London Secondary School are seeking a committed and motivated individual to lead on all pastoral and attendance responsibilities across the school. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. The successful Pastoral and Attendance Lead will work in partnership with the Safeguarding Team to develop processes to best support staff, students and families.

**About the role**:
The Attendance and Pastoral Lead will be responsible for monitoring attendance rates, reducing pupil absence and engaging with families to support them to ensure they fulfil their legal responsibilities.

Duties will include:

- To work with the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Inclusion Team, Heads of Year and all staff regarding support and strategies for ‘at risk’ children.
- To work with the SENCo to identify pupils in line with social and health needs who would benefit from additional support.
- To work with pupils who have child protection issues, are deemed to be in need or with pupils who meet the criteria for either group.
- To assist in identifying needs, co-ordinating support or referral and monitoring impact of pastoral interventions.
- To carry out pastoral interventions (using relevant schemes or interventions) where required on 1:1 or small group basis
- To manage and ensure the school database of Child Protection incidents in school are up to date.
- To oversee the daily attendance and ensure clear communication with the admin team when absence is reported
- To run attendance and absence reports
- To work with families where attendance and punctuality is poor, build positive relationships and provide school-based support to understand this as a barrier to education
- To identify trends in attendance and intervene appropriately making referrals to the Local Authority Attendance Team and other outside agencies

Pinnacle Learning Compliance Requirements:

- CV covering 10 year employment or education history and all employment breaks must be explained
