Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response

Cardiff, United Kingdom Public Health Wales NHS Trust Full time

Following a review of the Emergency Planning and Business Continuity function at Public Health Wales, we are looking to further strengthen our workforce.

An opportunity has arisen for an exciting new position of Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response Support Officer within the Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Team at Public Health Wales.

The Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response Support Officer will work in Emergency Planning and Business Continuity work stream, supporting the development, delivery and evaluation of projects. The post-holder will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive, confidential administrative, clerical and business support as part of Public Health Wales’ administrative resource.

This is a chance to join a national Public Health organisation, contributing to and supporting its statutory responsibilities for emergency preparedness and response.

Public Health Wales is the National Public Health Institute in Wales. Our vision is 'Working to achieve a healthier future for Wales'. We play a pivotal role in driving improvements in population health and well-being, reducing health inequalities, improving healthcare outcomes, protecting the public and supporting the development of health in all policies across Wales.

Never more has public health been so important as we come through the Coronavirus pandemic, face the challenges of the cost-of-living crisis and tackle and prevent the harmful effects of climate change. We are an organisation that places ourselves at the heart of supporting people, communities, partners, and the Welsh Government in addressing these major challenges and providing solutions for action.

This is a full time and permanent post which will operate at an all-Wales level, supporting Public Health Wales arrangements across the country.

A job description outlining the remit of the post is provided. The post will be hosted within the Health Protection and Screening Services Directorate and be based in Cardiff with regular travel across Wales.
