The Vacancy

Have you ever considered joining Llamau’s Relief Bank of Workers?

Does this sound like you?

“I can engage and build strong relationships with people.”

“I have a non-judgemental mind-set with an understanding of the impact the many kinds of trauma can have on a person.”

“I’m forward-thinking with a resilient attitude.”

“I like to find positive solutions to barriers and setbacks faced.”

“I can remain calm and collected in challenging situations.”

It does, then read on ……….

As a Relief Worker, you could be working in Young People’s Services and/or Domestic Abuse & Gender Specific Services.

A relief role means you can work around your existing commitments whilst gaining experience of working with the amazing people we support, developing your skills in one or many of our psychologically informed supported housing environments?

Relief can be a great way of finding out if you have what it takes to make a difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable & socially marginalised people in Wales.

Llamau is ever expanding, we have a large & varied workforce with plenty of opportunities for career development, with many cutting their teeth as relief, before gaining a permanent role.

So there has never been a better time to join LLamau with so many different services and different ways of working with the people we support across Wales.

The majority of our supported environments require lone working, don’t worry though, we don’t just throw you in at the deep end

Your relief induction is tailored with a Project Manager to ensure you have the skills & confidence to successfully lone work, including relevant training & experiences into the service and project where you would be working.

Your role would involve:

Maintaining the safety & security of the project & the people living there; ensuring the expected standards of maintenance & cleanliness are met. Opportunities to engage, build professional, trusting & respectful relationships with the people we support. Excellent communication amongst the team & relevant partner agencies, recording & reporting all work as per procedure. Advocating on behalf of the people we support with statutory services, including Social Services, Health & Emergency Services.

Please Note

Shifts are offered to both existing staff & relief workers, some shifts are booked slightly in advance (existing vacancies, holidays) , whilst others are for immediate cover purposes (sickness/emergencies) .

Waking Nights (12 hours/11 hours in Dwys Agored in Swansea)) £11.55 per hour

A 15 minute hand-over period is included for staff cross-over.
