**Job Title: Deputy Head of Health and Care**

**Contract: Permanent, Full Time**

**Salary: £49,486 per annum**

**Hours: 37**

**Location: Across Campuses**

An exciting vacancy is available as Deputy Head of Health and Care in the Health and Care department at Cardiff and the Vale College. This post will be based across Campuses.

**Responsibilities include**:

- To lead motivate & inspire the individuals, teams and learners within your department
- Promote and champion health, safety, well-being, equality and diversity within the Department and across a Welsh based Further Education College.
- Work creatively to promote and enhance the work of the Department with all relevant stakeholders
- Strengthen existing partnerships and forge new strong partnerships to support the department in achieving its full potential.
- Work with the Head of Department to develop strong links with Sector Skills Council, employers and schools in partnership with other organisations.
- Plan work related opportunities to equip learners with skills to be creative, confident and resilient in the workplace
- To work with the Head of Department to develop a curriculum that effectively meets the needs of individuals, employers and the community we serve, taking account the sector priorities related to the department
- Implement new innovative curriculum initiatives in line with Welsh Government and CAVC Priorities
- Proactively implement and promote the integration of the Welsh language in the curriculum within the department
- Regularly monitor and observe teaching in order to ensure the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning that is responsive to the needs of our diverse range of learners within the Department
- To disseminate best practice to teaching teams based internal and external sources in order to improve teaching, learning and learner success rates
- Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.
