**Purpose of the role**

We're looking to hire a fundraiser to concentrate on Scotland, raising vital funds for the charity as well as contributing to raising awareness of the charity and what it does. This is a wide and varied role - no two days will be the same

**Job title**: Community and Events Fundraiser - Scotland

**Remuneration**: £20,000 - £27,500 per annum.

**Type of contract**: Fixed term - 3 years (with possibility for a permanent role).

**Location**: Home based - Scotland/Edinburgh - There will be a requirement to come into the office for ad-hoc meetings.

**Report to**: Community and Individual Giving Manager

**Working closely with**: Fundraising Team, Communications Team, Patient Advocacy Team and Patient Services team.

**Community Fundraising**
- Promote and steward community fundraisers living in Scotland. Examples of this would include keeping in regular contact with anybody hosting a fundraising event in Scotland, ensuring they have the best support and would potentially consider raising money again for the charity
- Deliver and exceed targets across a wide variety of areas including events, challenges, community, and virtual fundraising
- Act as a charity representative at selected events (at your Line Managers discretion), reflecting the values of Leukaemia Care and being able to explain the value of the charity. This may include some selected evening and weekend work and will involve travel
- Develop and nurture relationships with schools, community groups and local businesses to identify ways that they could support the charity, for example, holding a spotty dress down day to mark blood cancer awareness month or by making us their charity of the year partner
- Proactively seek out locations where collection tins could be placed for Leukaemia Care, raising awareness of what the charity does as well as funds

**Events Fundraising**
- Promote and fill spaces in events held in Scotland in which the charity holds places such as the Edinburgh Marathon series, Kiltwalk and Ride the Night
- Promote other events which we have access to (for example, via Run for Charity) to ensure that Scottish fundraisers know the varied events that Leukaemia Care have to offer

**Other duties**
- Support national fundraising and national fundraising initiatives in conjunction with the wider fundraising team
- Identify and follow up opportunities to secure non-cash or in-kind support, e.g. volunteering, pro bono support, donations of equipment
- Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to potentially identify new volunteers who may be able to support the charity in a number of ways
- Monitor, evaluate and identify learning points from each area of activity

**Data, reporting and administration**
- Record all interactions with fundraisers or potential fundraisers on Raisers Edge NXT, our fundraising database (training will be provided)
- Produce reports for the Community and Events manager where required
- Acknowledge donations appropriately, ensuring that every fundraiser you deal with has received an appropriate thank you
- Adhere to all relevant financial procedures

**Communications**
- Provide content for the communications team to help promote fundraising initiatives in Scotland
- Identify potential PR opportunities which will help to promote the charity
- Contribute to the creation of fundraising materials
