The Community Health and Wellbeing Coordinator will support third sector organisations to contribute to buildingcommunity health and wellbeing across Dumfries and Galloway.

Developing resources, providing advice to sector organisations and contributing to events, the Coordinator will becentral to supporting community health and wellbeing activity, creating and promoting support and capacitybuilding opportunities and supporting in the development of community health and wellbeing resources.

As a colleague in the Partnerships and Communities workstream, the Coordinator will also be involved in sectorevents, forums and projects for the third sector working with colleagues across the organisation.

The Locality Partner/Locality Development Officer (LDO) works across our communities and is assigned a locality ofDumfries and Galloway to develop relationships and representation.

The purpose is to build a strong third sector through collaboration and advice on a range of matters includingleadership, good governance, sustainability, planning and volunteering.

Each Partner/LDO hosts the Locality Hub for their area as part of the Community Planning Partnership, working withpartners in the local authority, NHS and others. As part of the Partnerships and Communities team, there is alsowider involvement in sector development, including sharing insights and learning from localities to help withdecision making.

Working with colleagues across Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway, the Training and Events Coordinator will take thelead on coordinating the development of a training programme for social enterprises and the wider third sectoracross Dumfries and Galloway, as part of TSDGs annual training calendar, designed to develop and support astrong third sector across Dumfries and Galloway.

The Training and Events Coordinator will engage with third sector organisations and networks such as our SocialEnterprise Dumfries and Galloway Network, to establish the sector’s needs and will work with teams across theorganisation to develop training opportunities.

They will work with colleagues to secure attendance, liaising with our communications team; coordinate events on theday; analyse feedback and implement recommendations to develop future training opportunities.

As part of the Economic Development and Enterprise Team, the Development Officer role will develop social enterpriseactivity through capacity building support.

The Development Officer will support the delivery of the Third Sector Dumfries & Galloway Social EnterpriseStrategy and our alignment with the national Social Enterprise Strategy. The Development Officer will developresources, and provide advice to new and existing social enterprises to support them to grow and thrive, andrealise their full potential within our local communities and economy.

As a colleague in the Partnership and Communities workstream, the Development Officer for Social Enterprise will alsobe involved in sector events and projects for the third sector working with colleagues across theorganisation.

We are looking for a person who understands the community landscape of Grangemouth, the priorities and challengesfaced by the people who live and work in the town and is interested in supporting the transition to net zerothrough the decarbonisation of industry and community justice.

With strong communication skills, and exceptional at managing relationships, the postholder will engage with a widenetwork of stakeholders including representatives from the third sector and local communities, industry,business, public sector, and academic sector to create a visible and consistent ‘on the ground’ presence inGrangemouth, focusing on developing relationships with people across the breadth of the community, ensuringthose seldom heard have a route to participation, and supporting collaboration across networks.

There is no fixed route map for how to do this and it is a significant challenge. Whilst enhancing community capacityto take part in the Just Transition process in Grangemouth, the Community Participation and Engagement Managerwill be fundamental to establishing a new approach to multi-partner participatory democracy.
