**Pay, Benefits and Culture**
The salary range associated with this role is between £54,391 - £84,892, although it is expected that the starting salary will be between £54,391 and £71,779 depending on experience and competency levels.
You’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, site-based position.

**Nature and Scope**
The Site Head of Security is the focal point for all site security issues, including physical security, personnel security, information security and cyber security. In line with the current political and social context, site security has a strong anti-terror component; advising on security-related legislation and compliance, and managing the day-to-day interface with the security regulator, Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR).
You will manage a security team of some 40 personnel, most of whom are shift workers, and liaise with the Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC), which has a large team of armed officers on site, Police Scotland, and the corporate Security function/Furthermore, you will lead and co-ordinate an ongoing programme of security improvements, which range from infrastructure upgrades to staff culture change.
**Principal Accountabilities**
- Leading and managing a large team in all activities to ensure security legal compliance and an effective and efficient station security regime. Fostering a climate of accountability in a team of first line leaders and providing coaching and development of staff.
- Ensuring that all station security activities, including those undertaken by contractors, are carried out with full regard to site licence requirements, statutory regulations, company and local directives, procedures and safety rules.
- Responsibility for all matters relating to station security and the interface with local and other police and the ONR. Maintain a close working relationship with the CNC.
- Manage security support for the station’s Emergency Plan, ensuring that site security standards are defined and maintained in accordance with regulatory directives, company and site policies.
- Manage security systems, including the integration of existing and additional equipment necessary to maintain site security.
- Effective joint working with local trade unions, the central fleet security function, ensuring the appropriate alignment with company standards and reporting requirements.
- Working closely with other station teams to implement station policies and strategies to achieve business objectives.
- Vetting of all staff and contractors as required by legal compliance. Managing security support for plant activities such as outages and visits.
- Managing budgets and contractors providing security-related services.
**Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience**
A qualification to HNC or equivalent is required. Possession of a relevant degree would be an advantage. SC vetting is essential and a condition of appointment. A Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence or service background would also be an advantage. The possession of a full driving licence is essential.
