Amazon is seeking a high-judgment, self-motivated, highly organized and creative digital communications professional to help drive social media programming in support of the company’s communications. The individual will oversee all aspects of social media in Europe, specifically UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. As part of the global Social Media team within the Global Communications & Community Impact (GCCI) organization, they will lead a team of four in-country experts responsible for corporate and consumer social media activities: social strategy development in alignment with business and comms goals, content and channel management, paid social campaigns, issues management, social listening, and measurement and analytics. (Active channels include Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube accounts in each country.) They will work closely with the earned and owned media teams across the region, represent the Europe team’s work and perspective among the global social team and to leadership, and report into the Global Head of Social Comms.
- Manage agencies and budgets
- Plan and deliver on major social media/digital comms campaigns with reputational, brand, and business goals
- Use customer data/insights to inform campaign strategy and planning
- Work across multiple European markets
- Ensure activities deliver against core business objectives and articulate key messages
- Pay extreme attention to details
- Demonstrate high judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes
- Manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges and is able to deal with ambiguity
- Take responsibility and making things happen - often to a tight deadline
- Juggle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while managing essential admin and reporting work

Key job responsibilities
- Strategy: Develop and implement regional social media programming in line with global strategy and in support of regional and country-level business and comms goals
- Pan-Europe campaign management: Plan and deploy organic and paid social campaigns that span multiple European locales, working closely with in-country comms and social team members to ensure campaigns reflect local nuances
- Counsel: Provide proactive and reactive social counsel to comms teams and direct reports in regards to social channel strategy, issues monitoring and responses on social, goal setting, creative execution, etc.
- Mechanisms and processes: Establish mechanisms and processes that facilitate information sharing among the social team and with comms teams across Europe
- Measurement & evaluation: Oversee goal-setting and tracking across Europe locales and regularly analyze performance data to identify optimizations; contribute to global business review documents
- Finance: Manage Europe social budget, looking for ways to make the team’s budget stretch further
- People management: Coach and support four in-country social leads in Europe, partnering with them on their career development
