Finance Assistant

**37 hours a week. Working Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm**
We have an excellent opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our Central Services in Fareham.
**About the role**
Our Finance Assistant will provide assistance within the finance department in areas of daily financial administration and other clerical duties.
**Main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to**:
- Managing and issuing the petty cash for services as requested
- Checking travel claims submitted by staff and the monthly payment process
- Processing credit card transactions including checking receipts & authorisations
- Assisting with the purchase invoices processing and managing the supplier queries as received
- Finalising the weekly payment runs by checking invoices, authorisations and coding
- Assisting with the banking of miscellaneous cheques and cash that are received
- Liaising with external agencies on behalf of staff and clients as directed by the Finance team leader
- Maintaining finance records, as required and ensuring all manual, computerised records and information are stored, as appropriate
- ‘GCSE’ level or equivalent, in include maths and English
- Recent experience of using a modular finance computer system
- Good keyboard skills
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
