**Overall Purpose of The Job**
- The Group Head of Continual Improvement is accountable for the effective capture, assessment, promulgation, and measurement of effectiveness in implementing ‘Lessons Learnt’ arising across V., in relation to the continual improvement of policy, process, and programs, with the key outcome of preventing recurrence of incidents, non-compliance, and other unwanted events.
The role shall act as the focal point for effectively capturing, communicating, embedding, and measuring such improvement opportunities that may arise from incident investigations, root cause analyses, audit findings (internal and external), published changes in relevant standards and legislation, analysis of data trends and performances, and other such improvement opportunities that may proactively arise within the business.
Further, the role shall also - upon direction of the Group Director HSSEQ - acts as Lead Investigator in such cases where significant actual or potential risk to business is identified, and where such risk may require senior-level investigation and identification of learning and/or improvement opportunities that shape V. policy and practice.

**Key Responsibilities and Tasks**
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promoting a Strong, Proactive Culture of Continual Improvement
- Continually providing strong, visible, and proactive examples of clear and effective continual improvement
- Act as change agent for the continual improvement the Group’s policies, process, and service delivery
- Ensuring that ownership and management of V.’s continual improvement programs and tools is robust and rigorous
- Ensuring continual improvement outputs and initiatives are transparent, accessible, and engaging

Continual Improvement Program
Managing a Continual Improvement program that assures consistent, effective, and transparent communication and implementation of improvement opportunities. Such program shall;
- Effectively capture those improvement/learning opportunities, arising Group-wide, that require significant, strategic updates to V. standards, policy, or process
- leverage V.’s digital suite and data, to provide a clear and accessible overview of all identified improvement opportunities, sources, status, ownership, progress, and resultant outputs once delivered
- facilitate and drive transparent and engaging communications through multiple channels, to engage and inform colleagues of program outputs and benefits of same
- tie-in with the V. ‘Safety Culture Committee’ to provide regular updates and insight of progress during open meetings
- provide subsequent data-driven analysis of program effectiveness through clear and measurable improvements in associated performance trends and KPIs

Through the Continual Improvement program, ensure the effective update and publication of key V. policy and process by effectively anchoring, tracking, and ensuring delivery of improvement opportunities in partnership with owners of, but not limited to;
- the V. Management System (V.MS) and associated operational content
- internal Assurance programs, including both on
- and offshore assurance visits and reports
- internal and external Vetting programs, including RightShip and Oil Major Vetting programs
- V.’s Corporate Risk and Audit Committees
- training materials and programs, covering both onshore and seafarer colleagues
- welfare and culture programs, covering both onshore and seafarer colleagues

Investigations and Lessons Learnt
Liaising with the BU Heads of HSSEQ, Head of Vetting, and Head of Assurance, ensure the Continual Improvement program effectively captures and acts upon improvement opportunities arising from sources including, but not limited to;
- Investigations of HSSEQ-related incidents and unwanted events
- External investigations and shared learnings of findings and best practices
- Internal assurance, audit, and compliance programs
- Whistle-blower programs and associated investigations
- Any other source of relevant improvement opportunities
