We are looking for a Junior Underwriter, based in London.

**The Impact You Will Have**

In this pivotal London-based role, reporting to the Team Leader for Onshore Energy in the Region Unit London, you will independently shape underwriting processes and collaborate seamlessly with diverse functions to ensure precise and timely policy administration. Your impact lies in elevating operational efficiency and accuracy, with a keen focus on refining procedures within the Corporate Insurance sector. Specifically designed for individuals aspiring to deepen their understanding of Underwriting in the Natural Resources Line of Business, this role offers a unique platform for professional growth. Your meticulous approach and proactive collaboration will not only ensure the seamless flow of policy administration but will also contribute significantly to maintaining operational excellence. **Some of your specific responsibilities could include**:

- Support underwriting of new and renewal accounts, preparing all documentation and completion of underwriting tools.
- Prepare relevant underwriting information including client/market research and claims data.
- Handle document management for the team.
- Ensure that all systems are updated accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Conduct analyses of the portfolio data, to support strategic decisions for the Energy & Construction team.
- Assist in the coordination of Natural Catastrophe reporting.
- Ensure Underwriting compliance in line with the governance framework e.g. Underwriting Authorities, global MSU and Underwriting Guidelines.
- Assist in ensuring contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception.
- Assist in ensuring binding of FAC Reinsurance prior to policy inception.
- Liaise with other functions e.g., Operations, Credit Control, ARC and Claims.
- Develop and maintain peer relationships with brokers, clients, and the Underwriting teams in the Region and CUO.

**What You’ll Bring to the Role**
- You have a sound understanding of the policy administration life cycle, information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, and credit control.
- Progress towards professional insurance qualification preferred.
- You have excellent communication skills, at ease working with colleagues at every level in the organization, internationally.
- You have commercial acumen and enjoy building and maintaining relationships with external contacts such as brokers and clients.
- You have strong analytical skills and a high level of numeracy.
- You are proficient in MS Office (advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and able to learn new systems quickly and efficiently.
- You embrace agile working and engage in constant learning, to adapt to internal and external customer needs.
