We are currently seeking a Fuel & Container Control Operative to join our team at our Widnes site. As a Fuel & Container Control Operative you will assist the organisation of container lifting and storage, rail management and train planning & ensure the plan meets all legal obligations in respect of WTD and EU Drivers Legislation
**Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off Nights (18:00 - 06:00)**
**Salary: Up to £33,000 Per Annum**
**Job responsibilities of a Fuel & Container Control Operative include**:
- Ensuring GTS housekeeping is constantly completed, particularly:
- Input trailer numbers as soon as practical to do so
- Check resource availability for the shift
- Confirm driver start times for next day
- Monitor and report WTD issues / concerns to Operations team
- Ensuring there is clear daily communication between day and night shifts, utilising the handover document
- Responsible for dealing with third party drivers and gating them into the Terminal, in accordance with company procedures, ensuring all documents received are accurate.
- Gathering information for the export of containers for all movements.
- Regularly update crane reports such as hotbox requirements and non-status reports to help eliminate downtime on the cranes
- Co-ordinate container releases received by various customer for both loaded and empty boxes.
- Ensuring through working with transport that equipment requirements are met, if equipment is low, advance warning is essential.
- Managing driver’s hours in relation to customer requirements and volume demand
- Understanding and achieving specific targets regarding utilisation, and driver’s hours
- Equipment housekeeping: this involves regular checks to ensure all containers are in the correct stocks, lease containers have re-uses and long stay boxes are made available for movement, ensuring liner bags are removed as soon as possible.
- Regularly assisting when required at drivers / debrief counter
- Communicate with ESL Customer Services and Drivers, ensuring customer KPI targets are met
- Record and maintain fuel stock in ES Depots
- Arrange and plan fuel deliveries for all depots
- Ensure all weekly reports are completed and distributed correctly
- Ensure all jobs are created correctly on GTS
- Manage or assist in any project as directed by the Fuel Manager
- Briefing & De-briefing own drivers.
**Qualifications**
As Fuel & Container Control Operative you will possess the following skill, experiences and qualifications:
- Co-operate with your employer to enable any legal obligations to be complied with
- Do not recklessly interfere with anything provided by the employer or others in the interests of health, safety or welfare.
- Bring to the attention of the Head of Business Systems Process, Quality and Internal Communications any perceived short comings in health and safety arrangements, situations or processes that you consider to be serious, or which may present danger to you or others.
- Do not undertake or request others to undertake any works for which you/they do not hold the required competency or authority to undertake.
- IT Literate including Microsoft word, excel and outlook.
- 1 year experience in a transport planning / Terminal environment would be a benefit but not essential.
