Maintenance Control Specialist

The Maintenance Control Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the factory by resolving breakdowns and delivering maintenance. This includes reading and interpreting engineering specifications, design drawings, operations manuals, and manufacturer's instructions.
The role also involves attending to breakdowns onsite, minimizing plant equipment and machinery breakdown time. Additionally, the Maintenance Control Engineer will carry out repairs to plant and equipment during production, effectively and efficiently, either alone or as part of a team.
This position requires strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify incorrect equipment operation and locate sources of error. Observing equipment in operation and using appropriate test and measurement instruments are also essential responsibilities.
Requirements- Time served maintenance technician with previous related industrial maintenance experience
- HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Machine shop skills, including lathes, drilling, grinders, and milling machines
- Fabrication shop skills, including sheet metalwork bending and forming, welding, hand felting/grinding, and painting
- Mechanical installation and fitting, including machines fixing in location, levelling, and alignment, machine sub-assembly, and mechanical modification
- Electrical installations and wiring, including practical familiarity with European and international standards and installation practice
- Practical knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical/electronic motion control systems
- Specific experience with troubleshooting and repairing motors and drives is essential; experience with Allen Bradley motor drives is desirable
- Practical experience with industrial robotics; specific expertise with FANUC SCARA robots and multi-axis palletizing robots is desirable
This position requires a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, with two 12-hour days and two 12-hour nights. A competitive salary and excellent benefits package are on offer, including a shift allowance and bonus scheme.
