We are seeking to recruit a Responsible Individual for a new Ofsted Children’s Home opening in Bolton, Greater Manchester. The home is set to be a 4 bed children’s home specialising in Emotional Behavioural Difficulties for Young people. The property is in an excellent location and is of an extremely high and modern standard. This exciting role is your opportunity to be part of a brand-new provision, allowing you to take responsibility and a sense of pride and achievement in developing the provision and helping us to provide a high-quality service for children and young people, with plans for future growth.

This role is 10 hours a week and will offer flexible working, but with the requirement of visiting the home a minimum of once a month. Flexibility is also required depending on the needs of the home.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**
- Ensure legal compliance of the home's procedures and processes and remain up to date on any changes
- Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015
- Ensure the home is prepared for OFSTED inspections
- Ensure the extrenal monitoring of practice within the home through Regulation 44 and 45 reports and any other reports relating to the home
- Develop relationships and links with partners agencies
- Supervise, support and offer development to the Registered Manager
- Provide effective leadership
- Ensure that any investigations in relation to safeguarding concerns are carried out within your control, fairly, promptly and effectively to ensure the safety of the young people.
- Oversee Management of placements in the home
- Maintain own CPD and keep up to date on new legislation and practice
- **Key Experience & Qualifications**
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Children and Young People
- Experience working as a Responsible Individual in an EBD children's home environment
- Effective supervision and leadership skills
- Business and Management Skills
- Extensive knowledge of law and practice relating to looked after children
