**Hampshire CC are looking for Family Support Workers to work with children & families seeking refuge from Ukraine in the Havant area.**

**Responsibilities**:
Assessment/Investigation
- Initial screening - telephone/face-to-face.
- Helping with financial assessments as deemed appropriate.
- Conducting relevant checks - including telephone/paper/forms.
- Reviewing file records.
- Completing and updating chronologies.
- Booking/arranging appointments.
- Observing and reporting back to a qualified SW; Senior Practitioner or team manager.
- Undertaking direct work with children.
- Interviewing with a qualified Social Worker.
- Focussed assessments in specific areas eg parenting skills; parent's play skills with children; contact etc.

Planning
- Planning of specific tasks/activities within the overall plan in consultation with the qualified social worker/senior practitioner.
- Planning of appropriate and focussed intervention in allocated Children In Need Cases in consultation with supervisor/senior practitioner.

Undertake some statutory visits as required in exceptional circumstances and to:

- Record/report back what you do.
- Check what happens against objectives in care plan.
- Evaluate effectiveness of service provided.
- Evaluate quality of relationships.
- Reporting back on concerns, including urgent concerns

Changing legal status
- Completion of essential information forms.
- Preparation of reports for Court in consultation with social worker
- Serving court notice.
- Completion of placement plan forms in conjunction with the qualified social worker.

Resource Finding
- Arrange transport
- Arrange domiciliary care
- Accommodation finding
- Making arrangements (other)
- Assist in accessing other resources eg voluntary sector resources
- Liaising with housing etc.
- Facilitating some aspects of CP work - eg accessing playgroup provision.

Supporting and effecting change
- Offering advice and guidance to parents/cares/young people in the following areas:

- Parenting
- Budgeting
- Health & Safety
- Behaviour Management
- Independence skills

Contact - arranging; transporting and supervising; recording, arranging a worker to supervise;
- Providing equipment
- Mentoring
- Signposting to specialist advice
- Agreed elements of life story work
- Direct work with Children
- Mediation between parents and teenagers
- Mediating relationships in reconstituted families
- Keep safe work.

Reviewing
- Completion of reports on work completed.
- Attending as a contributor, not lead worker for CP & Children Looked After.
- Attend some Children In Need reviews as appropriate as the Case holder.
- Reporting on assessment/judgement

37 hours a week Monday to Friday

£21.50 per hour (Umbrella Rate)

6 month contract (may be extended)
