Havant, United Kingdom Hampshire County Council Full time

**Job Details**:
**Salary Range**: £28.934 - £32,026 per annum
- **Work Location**: South East Hampshire (covering Havant and Fareham & Gosport).
- **Hours per week**: 37
- **Contract Type**: Permanent
- **Closing Date**: 31 August 2023
- **Interview Dates**:September 2023 - dates to be confirmed**The Role**:
**Children’s Services are looking for enthusiastic and skilled front-line practitioners with experience of working with children and families, and who are passionate about making a positive difference.**

As an Intensive Worker, you will join our multi skilled team of practitioners, working alongside social workers and other specialist professionals.
- We believe in helping families to be stronger together, creating and embedding sustainable change that builds their resilience, and improves outcomes for children and young people, using a strength-based model.
- As an Intensive Worker, you will be at the forefront of this approach. You will be working directly with parents, young people and children to deliver interventions to families with multiple and complex needs. For example, you could be working with parents who have experienced significant trauma themselves, which is affecting their ability to care for, and safeguard, their own children; or you could be providing interventions and support which enables a looked after child return to the family home.
- Your work could make all the difference in ensuring that children can remain safely at home with their family, or in stabilising a child’s placement in a residential or foster care setting.
- No two days will be the same. You will work with a small number of families at any one time, giving you the opportunity to work together creatively and intensively to achieve positive change.
- Flexibility in working hours is key to supporting families, for example, you may need to meet with working parents in the evening or on a Saturday, or support families with mornings or bedtime routines. This means you will be required to work outside of standard business hours on some occasions. However, with support from your manager, you will be able to adjust your working pattern to make sure it fits your home life and still meet the needs of the families you are supporting.
- Most of your work will be with children and families in their homes or in the community and you must be able to meet the travel requirements of the role, for which you can claim travel expenses. When not visiting families you will work at your designated office base in Havant (Havant Plaza) or Gosport (Kent Rd Family Centre).-
