This post is based in the Directorate of Clinical Governance and Quality. The post holder will support the Governance, Risk & Patient Safety Manager and the Clinical Incident & Risk Manager with the day to day management of incident and risk activity within the Risk Management Department.

The post encompasses key areas of risk and quality improvement including:
To provide Risk Management training to Trust staff across the organisation. This will include incident reporting training and managing incidents and investigations training.

To design, co-ordinate and deliver specialist Safeguard System training for Trust staff including the design and production of training documentation and staff information documentation.

To jointly undertake the role of the Information Asset Assistant (IAA), with support from the Clinical Incident and Risk Manager.

To undertake administration, maintenance and updating of the Safeguard Risk Management System in its entirety.

The production of complex data and qualitative reports for all elements of incident and risk reporting submissions, both internally and externally, under the guidance of the Clinical Incident & Risk Manager and the Governance, Risk & Patient Safety Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support and Training
- Liaise with staff at all levels to provide advice and technical support regarding the Incident reporting and risk Web Pages.
- Provide training and managerial level training to Trust staff at all levels on the web based incident reporting system, incident management and investigations, which is provided in a number of ways including formal classroom tutor led, one to one, virtually and through small group sessions.
- To provide training for administration support staff.
- Record details of all training undertaken, assist in the collection of training statistics and to provide reports as requested.
- Liaise with staff at all levels to provide advice and technical support to system administrators using the multiple modules within the Safeguard Risk Management System.
- Resolve system queries/issues using Trust policies, procedures and using own initiative, whilst making best use of available research tools including the department’s knowledge base, the System Providers web forum and the internet.
- Adopt a proactive approach to the provision of support, including meeting with system users and seeking feedback on their requirements, experiences and satisfaction with the services provided.
- To co-administer, and minute the LIRC Committee and the Risk Assurance Meeting to produce minutes of meetings as required by the Department.

Information Asset Assistant (IAA)

To undertake the role of Information Asset Assistant, with the support of the Clinical Incident and Risk Manager, as below:

- System administration
- ISMS assessments
- Recording management leads
- Authorisation of access requests
- Create and maintain own asset register
- Recognise security incidents and information handling constraints
- Secure information asset disposal
- Provide Annual (written) risks.

Management
- Provide advice and support for System Administrators and the Assistant Risk Data Coordinator.
- To be able to work independently and without supervision and to prioritise own workload.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and maintain personal/technical skills.
- To adhere to policy and procedures, which may differ or be specialised, dependant on the location of work.
- To be professional at all times.
- Undertake regular incident reporting audits for presentation at relevant committees.

Communication
- Liaise with third party IT software vendors and support organisations as necessary to effect prompt system fault resolution and repair.
- Collaborate with Trust staff, at all levels as required.
