OVERALL ROLE

To support the accounts department in all its activities and help to maintain an efficient

and accurate finance function within the business. Role offers opportunities to develop

internally and take on further responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist and support Purchase Ledger in all functions within purchase ledger
- To ensure the accurate and timely recording, coding, checking and payment of invoices in line with company procedures and guidelines.
- To reconcile supplier statements, ensuring that any discrepancies are investigated and deal with supplier queries.
- Assist with reconciliation of 3rd party invoices.
- Raising queries and liaising with suppliers if invoices are incorrect.
- Assist credit control function in maintaining aged debts and pro-actively monitor invoice collections.
- Answer queries and enquiries from internal and external customers.
- Obtain sufficient information to assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
- Allocate bank receipts to the appropriate accounts against the appropriate invoices
- Prepare and send customer statements

- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to work well within a team as well as autonomously
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to organise, schedule and adapt work tasks to meet deadlines and respond to changing situations
- Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain accuracy
- Required Knowledge
- Use of IT packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Graduation with a finance related degree
- Willingness to progress carrier in finance and obtain accountancy qualifications
- Experience of working in the office environment
