Job purpose
This position exists to take a lead in developing and implementing critical operations to ensure that our supply chains are set up and run at the right quality level, with optimised capacity, have capability aligned with New Product Introduction and are underpinned by good cost control. You will be responsible for identifying and being the main point of contact with our Logistics partners. Additionally, you will create and maintain our rolling demand plan for finished goods utilising inputs and insights from Sales, Marketing, and Finance. Working closely with our external manufacturing & logistics partners you will ensure the flow of supply to secure stock availability and efficient inventory levels, Once established you will be responsible for themanagement and continuous improvement of these systems & processes aligned with the evolution of IQ Endoscopes as we grow to become a commercial organisation and into high-volume manufacture.
You will work at the interface between Operations and Engineering to ensure a clear and smooth translation of product information to our external partners. Together, with our UK Manufacturing Lead, you will collate pricing information, have the ability to negotiate on pricing for components for different volume break points and run analyses to ensure that the company understands and is controlling its position on product COGs at all times.
Key responsibilities
The main responsibilities and activities for this post holder include:
- Lead the Production Planning & Scheduling for IQE to manage production schedules with external manufacturing partners, including making recommendations to the rest of the team in terms of stock optimization.
- Establish the IQE’s Supply Chain in the UK from Manufacture to Warehousing to Customer Sales.
- Responsible for Demand planning working cross-functionally to identify key constraints and develop plans to mitigate these.
- Develop and implement practices to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of strategic initiatives in production planning and materials management.
- Responsible for implementing Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes to assure sufficient product supply to support changing demand.
- Provide support to internal NPI projects in particular supplier management (sourcing and maintaining relationships), inventory management for prototypes and pre-production and assist in design transfer processes to CMOs.
- Leverage existing, and implement new, systems and processes to improve end to end supply chain efficiencies.
- Recommend plans and strategies for continuous improvement in operations and procedures to meet both short and long-term needs and to resolve problems.
