Bilingual Assistant Psychologist

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated bilingual Assistant Psychologist who is proficient in one of the locally spoken languages (Somali or Bengali Sylheti dialect) with an interest in community psychology. The post is fixed term for one year with the Tower Hamlets Community Psychology Team under Adult Mental health Psychology Services.
The post holder will support the team’s offer of providing psychological interventions to people with complex mental health needs. They will also contribute to maintaining partnership working with local community groups to promote social connections, community engagement and participation. We envision the post-holder being involved in innovative ways of working that will inform the further development of the Trust’s approach to Population Health.
The post is suitable for someone who is keen to embrace the privileges of working in a diverse borough and a commitment to working with people with complex mental health difficulties. This includes working with a range of religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds as well as working in partnership with staff teams and community organisations to deliver psychologically informed care.

- Contribute to the development of partnership working with local community groups to promote social connections, community engagement and participation under the supervision of senior psychologist.
- Work alongside Psychologists, Peer support workers and partner organisations in developing interventions to support local population needs.
- Support with the development and delivery of culturally sensitive, co-produced services with people with lived experience and local voluntary organisations.
- Delivery of interventions under clinical supervision in local language
- Collate information across the service relating to referrals, allocations, interventions offered and maintain databases relating to client care.
- Undertake clinical audit and research activities as required, under the supervision and guidance of senior staff.
- Participate in CPD and other developmental activities, keeping up to date with relevant psychological research and national guidance.
- Writing reports and letters of support for service users under the guidance and supervision of senior psychologists.
