Trunk Road Maintenance Unit Coordinator

Put your management and maintenance skills to the test in this new opportunity working for a large public sector organisation where you will be helping to coordinate countywide trunk road operations and providing first line management of operational maintenance teams.
In the role of Trunk Road Maintenance Coordinator, you will be:
- Managing, developing and motivating Trunk Road operational staff including sickness absence management and PDRs.
- Managing the workforce and developing a planned programme of scheduled works
- Liaising with NMWTRA and Area Maintenance Officers to ensure allocation of staff and resources to undertake reactive work
- Supervising and monitoring temporary traffic management for works on the highway
- Ensuring all aspects of Health and Safety are monitored and risk assessments & safe working practices are in place and communicated to staff
- Responsible for dedicated Trunk Road vehicles, ensuring efficiency of use, timely maintenance and replacement.
- Maintaining comprehensive service records, performance indicators and supporting data
- Deputise for Trunk Road Manager when required
To be considered for the Trunk Road Maintenance Coordinator job must have:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in a Highways environment (to include exposure to trunk road operations)
- Previous experience coordinating workloads and preparing contract details for maintenance works
- Strong communication skills and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst prioritising workload
- The ability to lead and manage a skilled workforce, issue instructions and monitor performance
- A full clean UK driving licence as whilst the work is mainly office based, there will be times when visits to Council other sites may be required
This is a temporary full time (37 hours per week) position with an ASAP start and is for a period of approximately 8 weeks, offering an hourly pay rate starting from £17.00 per hour plus any accrued holiday time whilst on the assignment.
Please note: the role will involve some night work which may include weekends.
