Job Overview:
To assist in the high quality delivery of the Council’s Open Spaces cleansing service

**Responsibilities**:
To be responsible for the general cleanliness of an area to include mechanical, hand sweeping and litter collection using a handcart.

To be responsible for the emptying of litter and dog bins.

To collect fly tipping.

To act as a point of contact for Council Services and to observe and report any general community needs, defects or damage including the general status and condition of street nameplates, street signs, road gullies, seats, litter and dog bins etc.

Interact with members of the public in a courteous and professional manner.

Operate a range of tools and machinery in order to successfully carry out day to day operations

Carry out a range of maintenance operations on Open Spaces street furniture

Carry out distribution and removal of sandbags as a consequence of inclement weather.

To undergo training as necessary to enhance operational abilities

Drive and be responsible for any vehicle allocated

If necessary, work any five out of seven days on a rota basis.

**Job Type**: Temporary contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: £11.98 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week

**Experience**:

- street cleansing operations: 1 year (required)
- Manual handling: 1 year (required)

**Language**:

- English and Welsh (required)

Licence/Certification:

- full EU driving licence. (required)
- current HGV driving license (required)
