**Main duties and responsibilities of the job**

The Healthcare Improvement Studies Institute (THIS Institute) is seeking an enthusiastic Business Administrator Apprentice to join its Director's Office team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work to join a prestigious university and a highly experienced team to gain administration experience and training. You will work towards completing a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard and have allocated study time to complete coursework set by our training provider, Straight A Training.

This apprenticeship will focus on two areas: contributing to the smooth running of the Director's Office and providing administrative support to specific senior members of the institute. You will be encouraged to work independently and take full responsibility for the results of your work.

You will be a great team player and someone who can take responsibility for your own development and learning. This role requires you to be organised and have excellent attention to detail. You will work in a lively and fast-paced environment where good decision-making skills and the ability to problem solve will be highly valued.

**What you will do in your working day**:

- Provide general administrative support to THIS Institute staff and visitors
- Provide diary management for senior staff
- Arrange travel and accommodation
- Handle general enquiries and correspondence as a first point of contact
- Assist with organising events and meetings, including booking venues and catering
- Collate and distribute meeting agendas and papers
- Liaise with the finance team to raise purchase orders

- Access to industry and sector business experience
- The apprenticeship training and development will be provided through a combination of online and workplace learning

Fixed-term: 12-14 months.
