**We have an exciting opportunity within our Data, Analytics and Research (DAR) team at Companies House.**

We are looking for experienced Social Researcher or Behavioural Scientist to lead in developing and delivering of a programme of Corporate Research including behavioural science & social research projects to support evidence driven decision-making at all levels.

This is a fast-paced, high-profile role as the work of the team is at the forefront of enabling evidence-based decision-making at all levels of the organisation - from strategic to the front line. DAR brings together members of various analytical professions so you will be working closely with data analysts, statisticians, and data scientists.

- Lead on shaping a portfolio of analytical outputs, and their delivery and dissemination

**Job description**:
The Corporate Research Function leads the Corporate Research Programme which aligned with Companies House’s strategic goals. This ambitious, multi-disciplinary package of projects cut across numerous critical aspects of the business and reported directly to Executive Board. The corporate research programme delivers evidence-based research for policy development; an understanding of the motivation of our customers; and a rapid way to understand and predict impacts that service developments will have.

You will contribute to making sure that registers and data inspire trust and confidence, and we maximise the value of our registers to the UK economy. The use of research and behavioural insights is key to the success of understanding our customer behaviours and this role provides the post holder with a fantastic opportunity to shape how Companies House responds to these changing demands. This might include (but not limited to) understanding customer motivations to filing online, determining the barriers to filing on time and exploring the characteristics of different filers. Obtaining answers to these important questions will support a wide range of decision making internally and externally.

You will lead on shaping what research is undertaken and how new approaches are developed, including acting as an expert consultant to key internal stakeholders such as Internal and External Communications.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Develop the long-run Corporate Research Strategy, plans, and roadmap which contributes to the overall data, analysis and research strategies. Align a programme of the Corporate Research to the Companies House’s strategic goals and strategic outcomes through stakeholder consultation. Manage the research budget.
- Lead the delivery of corporate research and behavioural insights within several Companies House transformation projects. These will include understanding the feasibility of reducing customer contact, undertaking randomised control trials to test hypotheses, introducing nudge techniques and provide confidence in decisions to improve process design.
- Lead on corporate research horizon scanning to take into account a rapidly changing landscape and future organisational strategic planning. Contribute to the delivery of the Companies House Data Strategy. As new research is
