Medical Education Co-ordinator - Undergraduate, Band 3
To support all aspects of the Undergraduate programmes linked to Newcastle University. To assist medical students who are on placement at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle).
The Medical Education Department is responsible for developing, managing and delivering a range of high quality and cost effective medical educational services within the Trust to specifications required by the General Medical Council, Health Education England, North East, Newcastle University Medical School and the Trust's Strategic and Operational Framework.
This involves the planning, co-ordinating and administration of undergraduate, medical and continuing educational events, weekly teaching programmes, courses, exams and workshops in the Education Centre and in external venues, maintaining appropriate records relative to these activities and adhering to the standards of the relevant organisation and regulators.
Medical Education has a key role in ensuring that the Trust achieves the highest clinical standards. High quality medical education supports patient safety, service delivery and the maintenance of up-to-date clinical practice.
Medical Education is regulated by the General Medical Council and Health Education England. The Trust is required to engage with the national quality assurance stipulations via regular quality visits and reports.
