The clinical research fellow (CRF) will provide clinical support for a portfolio of clinical research across a range of specialities. The role and responsibilities will be adjusted according to prior experience. The fellow will provide medical support within the Clinical Research Department for clinical trials. They will work within a supportive, multidisciplinary team of research nurses and practitioners, Principle Investigators and clinical trial pharmacist.

They will gain experience and training in all aspects of clinical research delivery, including: study set up recruitment consent Pharmacovigilance Duties & Responsibilities Research To act as co-investigator/ principle investigator on a range of research projects across various specialities The post will be based at CIC but may involve cross site working to deliver research at WCH also To increase recruitment to portfolio studies within NCIC To facilitate and encourage high quality clinical research within NCIC To develop the skills and knowledge needed to conduct and deliver clinical research in the NHS Clinical Role Improve the educational environment for all levels of medical staff and extended surgical team Co-ordinate on going QI/Audit projects and pathway reviews Contribute to General Surgical Middle grade on call (1:10 fullshift rota) Take part in departmental MDT, govenance, educational and Elective activity. Clinical, Professional & Managerial Keeping up to date with new clinical developments Recognition of limitations and knowledge, and a commitments to develop learning Comply with relevant professional codes of conduct Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, work flexibly and, on occasion work, independently Comply with trust policies, procedures and mandatory training Annual appraisal with R&D and clinical team
