The Financial Control team supports the Finance department and the Bank by ensuing accurate financial information is reported to the Group.

**What you will be doing**:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with the Financial Control Manager to ensure the Segment maintains accurate and timely financial reporting, adhering to a robust control framework and ensuring the Group's policies and procedures are adheredto. The role is responsible for the day-to-day financial accounting, the timely production of the Segment's month end reporting and maintaining the Segment's balance sheet within a controlled environment.
This is a varied role where you will get exposure to specialist technical accounting including share based payments and securitisation. This role has a clear path for development and progression and with some exciting changes that have recently happenedwithin the team, this truly is a great time to join.
Your responsibilities will include
- Processing of accounting journals, ensure all transactions are posted into the Group's accounting system (Sun) with speed and accuracy, paying particular attention to ensuring sufficient supporting evidence is maintained.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of the Segment's balance sheet accounts using the Group's reconciliation system (Blackline), ensuring excellent quality substantiation is used and issues are flagged and resolved in a timely manner. Assist in managing theunreconciled differences, helping to resolve these in a timely manner.
- Adhere to the Group's control environment policies, assisting with the preparation of the Segment's monthly control pack and quarterly SOX Lite reviews.
- Assist with the quarterly VAT returns, prepared by OSBI, ensuring compliance with the Group's policies and procedures. Assist in the preparation of a VAT control pack to support the calculations and returns prepared. Assist in explaining queries from theGroup Head of Tax, ensuring the VAT returns are submitted by HMRC deadlines.
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly Securitisation accounting for OSB's Canterbury structured entities, performing month end reconciliations of Canterbury's external bank accounts and assist in preparing the monthly Interest Payment Date accountingentries mid-month.

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
