**Behaviour Change Coordinator** to join The Aspire Team We work with people who have been identified as higher risk drinkers and provide extended brief interventions and/or lower level psychosocial interventions to help people recognize problems or potential problems that may come as a result of their drinking behaviour, helping to resolve ambivalence and encourage positive behavior change.

You’ll have to record information about what you do, so enjoying a bit of paperwork and attention to detail is important. But most of the time you’ll be enjoying working with people from all backgrounds, making a difference to their lives. No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.

**Where**: Sunderland, Tyne and Wear

**Hours**: 37.5 hrs per week

**Salary**: £26,393.77 - £30,316.74

**Responsibilities**:
**About the role**:

- Coordinate a tailor-made package of care
- Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning (using motivational interviewing techniques) and onward referral
- Support campaigns across the city and provide Brief/Extended Interventions in recognised hotspot areas
- Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
- Providing advocacy for access to partnership services

**About you**:

- Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field
- Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
- Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
- Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
- Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
