Are you an experienced Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) looking for a temporary opportunity to work at the prestigious North Bristol NHS Trust? We are currently recruiting for a Band 5 - ODP for a one-day assignment on 28/02/2024 at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the preparation of the operating theatre, ensuring all equipment is set up and ready for surgery
- Provide assistance to the surgical team during procedures, including handing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment
- Monitor the patient's vital signs and respond accordingly to any changes
- Administer medications and fluids as directed by the anaesthetist or surgeon
- Document all interventions and observations accurately in the patient's medical records
- Ensure the safe transfer of the patient to the recovery area post-surgery
- Participate in the cleaning and restocking of the operating theatre after each procedure
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a high standard of hygiene

**Requirements**:

- Valid registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP)
- At least 1 year of experience working as a Band 5 ODP in a hospital setting
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts and adapt to changing priorities
