Job description
We are looking for a part time Placement Coordinator to join a busy college-based team providing support for the University's work based learning students. You’ll predominantly be supporting our students commencing or undertaking their short term or Sandwich Placements and Consultancy projects, as well as other work based learning opportunities.
Your expertise will be with supporting students going overseas, ideally for short term or sandwich placement years. This will include working with overseas organisations to understand their health and safety measures and insurances, as well supporting the students with their travel plans.
Your focus will be within the college of Health, science and society. Previous knowledge in this field isn’t essential, we will teach you all you need to know. You’ll also get to support our other faculties when responding to queries, covering our student drop in desk, and helping students via bookable appointments.
You’ll also provide expert guidance to academics, and other professional services staff, so great communication skills and the ability to tailor your communication to your audience are needed.
**To succeed in this role you should be able to demonstrate the following essential experience**:
- Confidence supporting students with their overseas travel plans.
- An understanding of health and safety measures or risk assessments.
- Administrative experience gained in a complex and busy office environment.
- Excellent IT skills including experience of MS packages to intermediate level, plus the ability to work with complex data base systems with experience of extracting, and manipulating data to produce reports.
- Experience of building and maintaining relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Confident when presenting to a cohort of students or staff either virtually or in person.
- Ability to work proactively as part of a team with a focus on collaborating to solve issues.
- Experience of working with confidential information and ability to work sensitively when dealing with issues.
