To identify and co-ordinate the placement of university degree students or apprentices in various settings to ensure exposure to the required clinical experiences and the opportunity to gain the skills necessary to become state registered Paramedics at completion of their Programme.

To be responsible for ensuring students are prepared for placement before entering into SWASfT

Be responsible for ensuring mentors are prepared, updated and supported in collaboration with the Practice Education Facilitators, SWASfT apprenticeship team, SWASfTCPD team and academic program leads.

Be responsible for ensuring students are prepared for placement setting through the coordination of central and local inductions

To support the Student Resource coordinator in the placement of students in various settings.

To support and achieve local practice placement priorities and Health Education South West (HESW)/NHS England (NHSE) Key performance Indicators (KPIs).

Monitor areas for development; to include placement capacity management ensuring the maintenance of quality learning environments and considering ways to enhance the student placement experience.

To be responsible for the implementation of the Observer Policy. In liaison with the student resource coordinator to ensure placement capacity is not compromised when agreeing observer requests.
- To work with Learning and Development Managers, Education leads, Operational Managers and practice educators to identify placement learning opportunities and pathways to meet the needs of the programme the students are studying.
- To initiate, develop and enhance placement quality assurance processes for current and new placements in conjunction with the student resourcing scheduler
- To ensure quality assurance of placement provision within the Trust, meeting, as required, with NHS England to ensure the Trust are meeting the required standards to achieve tariff.
- Liaise and ensure the Universities have carried out their academic placement audits, escalating to local Education Lead where this falls short of the work place agreements
