**Main Purpose of Job**
- To provide an efficient and effective reception service and administrative support service to ensure compliance with the school requirements.
- As the first point of contact at the school, and with the emphasis on customer service and care, provide a friendly, professional and efficient first point of contact to all students, parents, staff, professionals and visitors contacting and visiting the school.
- Ensure that the reception area and office are tidy and present a positive image of the school to visitors.

**Main Responsibilities & Duties**
- Act as receptionist for all telephone calls and visitors to the school.
- Receive telephone calls and re-direct to appropriate member of staff; take and deliver clear, accurate messages when staff are not available; provide information where appropriate.
- Compose rota for and manage Student Receptionists.
- Greet visitors, ascertain purpose of visit, complete sign-in/out procedure (for visitors and students), issue badge and contact appropriate member of staff to deal with them. If appropriate, deal with enquiry directly or seek advice from the appropriate authority.
- Support supply teachers on arrival by issuing their cover list and information pack. Escorting them to their teaching room if required.
- Make appointments between staff and callers within identified guideline, advising callers of 48 hour response time.
- Distribute post throughout the school site.
- Frank outgoing post and drop off at the local post office at the end of the day.
- Manage the sale of items from the Stationary Shop, keeping a log of sales and securely storing monies received.
- Receive and collate consent forms, money for trips etc from students pending collection by the Finance Office.
- Manage and maintain the Lost Property Store.
- Staff the Medical Room and administer first aid where appropriate. Ensure accurate records are kept.
- Maintain and order first aid stock.
- Provide administrative support to the Fixed Term Exclusion process.
- Manage and coordinate the booking and provision of refreshments for meetings by liaising with Taylor Shaw.
- Provide administrative support for Parents’ Evenings and Parent Tutor Day.
- Support the Head of Music by signing in peripatetic music teachers - passing on messages to staff and students as appropriate. Send out letters to parents as appropriate.
- Upload accident report data to the EEC website.
- Support the Headteacher’s PA with a range of admin tasks as and when necessary.
- Assist other members of the Admin Team with workloads as and when necessary.
- Carrying out any other duties as required by the Headteacher or Business Manager, and as may be deemed appropriate.

- A school of approximately 1055 pupils in years 7 to 11.

**Additional Information**
- The normal working week is one of 37 hours, term time only plus 1 week.
- Annual leave must be taken during school holidays.
- The salary for the post will be paid at Grade 14 (£21,189-£21,968 pro rata - pay award pending).
