The Safer Estates Team support Torus tenants from the negative effects of nuisance, anti-social behaviour and other tenancy breaches, using a range of early intervention tools to combat nuisance within our communities across Liverpool, St Helens & Warrington.

This role will support customers who are experiencing domestic abuse, enabling them to overcome personal barriers and sustain their tenancies by working to find solutions to alleviate domestic abuse and other related issues. You will be required to attend MARAC’s to provide specialist and expert knowledge around housing options available to victims of Domestic Abuse.

**This is an important role in which you will**:

- Make initial contact with victims to establish risk by completing the relevant risk assessment tool to determine the level of risk, and provide initial advice and support
- Follow the local referral pathways to refer victims on to the specialist domestic abuse service
- Represent Torus at MARAC in the absence of the Team Leader from a housing perspective and provide relevant and proportionate information
- Ensure where required target hardening is provided to enable those identified at risk to remain safely in their home
- In partnership with other agencies develop plans to protect clients their children and their families
- Work with victims to help them access services to keep them and where applicable, their children safe
- In conjunction with the local specialist domestic abuse service, provide practical support and information to victims including in relation to housing, health and finance.
- Manage a caseload to promote independent living, ensuring each client receives the appropriate service individual to their personal circumstances.

**To be successful in this role you will**:

- Have a track record of completing assessments and developing support plans with targets and outcomes for clients
- Experience of working and engaging with people and families suffering from domestic abuse.
- Knowledge of domestic abuse legislation and best practice.
- Have knowledge and experience of Safeguarding Practices and Procedures
- Have experience of crisis management, risk minimisation and of making decisions in difficult situations
- Have evidence of managing personal resilience when dealing with difficult situations and identifying mechanisms to deal with these
